I’ve never hid the fact I am a huge fan of Giambattista Valli.
I love the designs and the powerful, feminine atmoshphere in all the shows and the way all creations come together through textures and color combinations.
Giambattista Valli clearly knows the true meaning of Haute Couture and is very much aware of how to put together the perfect pieces for a fantastic Parisian Haute Couture show. He knows how important it is to marry art and fashion in modern way and give to the fashion world something, almost, new to talk about.
There is no doubt that his creations are a work of art, all you have to do is look at some of his designs and see the characters straight out of a 18th century portrait modeling on his clothes.
Bright eye-catching colors, tulle and patterns that have a vintage look on them are what consisted of his show. There was something almost royal on his creations, like designed dresses for old time classic royals who love look eccentric and show off their status.
Valli knows that Haute Couture is supposed to be grand and glorious. That’s exactly what he opted for in his creations, the certain glory that a couture piece is supposed to come with. Sure, the volume on the shoulders is something we saw in every catwalk, but the way he used that couture-trend and manifested it to fit into his style is quite clever.
He definetely turned heads.
