7+1 Things To Do In Quarantine

Having to self isolate yourself from your loved ones is, possibly, one of the hardest decisions you’ll have to make. But, I am here ( like everyone else) to help you make it more toleratable.

We’re going through a very tough crisis. Each country struggling to deal with this virus and protect their people and loved ones in whatever means they can. Protection went as far as having to self isolate yourself for a long time, for the most of us even for more than a month.

This does stuff to people. It challenges their relationships with the people in their lives, it breaks some apart and unites others.

I am here, however, to help you deal with your self-isolationg by finding new things for you to do while staying indoors.

#1 – READ A BOOK SERIES

You know how everyone tells you to turn to books? Well, do that. It’s scientifically proven that time goes by faster when you find yourself relaxing with a nice book, but not just any book. Since we don’t know how far this isolation and staying home movement is going to go, I suggest you start a book series like Harry Potter or Game of Thrones. Long, big, heavy books that will require for you to dedicate time to read and create the images and scenes in your head.

#2 – YOGA WORKOUT

I know that for the most of you this sounds ridiculous, but you will be surprised with how many programms, apps and playlist you will find on the internet about yoga and all her forms. It’s been said that yoga can help you treat anxiety, stress, nervousness while also exercising you. A good workout will help you burn some fat, but why not try something different and will yourself to calm down? Especially, since when you open the TV there is nothing but negative news. Stop the negativity immediately.

#3 – F.R.I.E.N.D.S IS THE BEST PASTIME

You don’t even need a reason to start watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S again. Long episodes and seasons that will keep you home with a good laugh, while also making you feel like you are not alone. You will have Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Ross and Rachel to help you deal with all the free time in your hands.

#4 – THE CLOSET CLEAN UP

We all have multiple closets in your houses. We also have lots of cabinets. During the day we open and close them all the time, taking stuff out and putting them back in, but not in order. We also have a lot of products or clothes we don’t use anymore or need to throw away. Well, you do have the time to stick yourself to your closet or your kitchen cabinets and really sorts things out.

#5 – THE JOURNAL

Writing is the best therapy against loneliness. It brings you closer to yourself, you can pour into a journal your deepest of thoughts and desires in a way that you could never say while talking. It’s proven that writing about something we’re thinking makes us feel like a weight has been lifted from our shoulders. So, do exactly that, come in touch with the deepest parts of yourself and face your fears once and for all.

#6 – PUZZLE TIME

Puzzles were once our favorite game while growing up. In large pieces they were pictures from the circus or the farm that we had to put together in matter of minutes because they were that easy. Nowadays, like the adults we are we tend to choose more complicated pieces and create majestic images to hang aftewards on a wall in our house. That’s the idea I am here to share, because I do it as well. Choose or order a puzzle you feel like making and start spending your time putting it together while a playlist is blaring on the background. Best pastime ever.

#7 – PAINT

Painting is also a very good hobby most people start enjoying these days. You can create canvas, portraits of people or landscapes, or even take some online painting classes if you feel like filling your time with a hobby that is set to work on a skill you may have.

#8 – TAKE AN ONLINE CLASS

For those of you who never stop learning the internet will be your safe place and online classes your pastime. With so much free time in your day, it’s possibly the best opportunity you may have to watch a seminar or take an online class about a subject you’re interested in. Most seminars also offer a degree of some sort, so that will look amazing in your resume.

It’s actually quite important for you to find stuff to fill your days, even if it is combining all of the above since the day seems to pass so slow in quarantine.

Personally, it’s a little better since I work from home so 8 hours the day are filled for me and the days go by quicker than those who don’t. However, I also make sure to do some stuff from the above to fill the rest of the day, like blogging or puzzles. Actually, I have started putting together a puzzle to fill one of my walls in my house. This way I pass my time and in the end I will add a new decor in my place.

Never forget that we are all in this together. You have to think about yourself and the rest of the world’s health and simply stay indoors. It’s so much better than being in a hospital because you just did not care.

Stay safe and healthy in whatever part of the world you are.
