5 Things To Do After Quarantine

Lately I’ve been thinking about life before and after quarantine.

It’s been almost a year since we were all, sort of, forced to lock ourselves to our homes in order to protect ourselves from the pandemic that has become one of the most serious viruses in the last 100 years. Life, I believe, will never go back to the level of normality we used to know, but there is no harm in dreaming and planning things to do when this whole thing is over.

Personally, I am a person who likes plans and sometimes I like thinking that I am the one who is going to make my own path through life and even have some effect over obstacles that are bound to come my way. But, let’s be honest, we all know that’s impossible.

However, I am not going to let anything get in the way of my plans and that’s why I have put together 5 most important things I want to do after quarantine – now, the word “important” might sound a bit too much, but we’ve been locked up inside so long that there are certain things nd experiences to be done correctly and in order. Let’s get real here, we’ve all thought about things we want to have the opportunity to do when we’re allowed back into the real world, I am just here to point them out for all of you.

Trips, exercises, events, concerts… there is a ton of things we wish we didn’t have to miss this year. It’s known and understandable that we all miss the large crowds, the long trips, things we always took for granted that nowadays feel like a scene from a movie. We’ve even reached the level where we see people without masks on movies and we feel like we should be the ones cutting them a fine.

Nevertheless, we have to have faith that things will get better and we all need something to look forward to, so let’s drive in together to this list below!

1 – TAKE A LONG TRIP

The very first thing all people (including myself), I believe, will do after been free from quarantine would be to schedule a trip. Anywhere with any close person to us. It’s only natural to feel the need to go to a different place and see different views. The world has so much to offer and with this pandemic going on – on pretty much every partv of the world- it feels like all our dreams and to dos , along with our bucket lists are now on hold. It’s like somebody simply pressed a pause button and let us all take an involuntary break.

Our thirst for life, though, is unstoppable. Therefore, when the Corona Virus is all gone we are all going to pack a bag and go to whatever place we desire. We are going to fill our brains with informations and views we wished we’d seen sooner. We are going to live, simple as that.

2 – ATTEND A CONCERT

Imagine it’s a hot day. The hot air is breezing through you, you’re wearing a very cute outfit, you are with your most precious friends and you’re jamming at one of your favorite songs. The band is on the stage playing your song and the singer is giving everything he’s got to your songs. You’re feeling like this is your greatest moment and there is nothing beyond that.

That is exactly the dream, the wish, the picture, the memory every single person wants to have in his or her life. Those kind of memories are the one we’re going to remember and tell as stories to our children, when we explain to them that the times we were young were much simpler, even if they were not.

Attending a concert would be one of the main things I want to do after quarantine and lockdown. I want to not have to wear a mask to go outside and just enjoy a starry night with my favorite music and with people I love and care about without having to talk to them from a distance. I want to be able to dance in the middle of a field filled with lights – Coachella style – and finally I want to be able to smile so bright the edges of my lips hurt. That’s the moment worth having!

3 – A LONG DRIVE BY THE SEA

Have you noticed that the roads by the sea, lighted by tall lights, always seem scarier and more aesthetic at the same time, at night? I can’t even count how many times I’ve thought to myself how amazing driving at night while my favorite music is blasting through the speakers of the car echoes through the silent of the night. Combined, of course, with the sound of the waves hitting the shore. It’s the kind of moments you see on video clips and movies, where the main character simply drives into the night and feels so free.

We wall want to feel free, don’t we? Then what is stopping us from getting to feel that after this pandemic alarm? Nothing! We are entitled to our emotions, therefore, we are capable of having that two-three hour drive to whatever place. All that matters is the journey, good music and if you don’t want to be alone… good company.

4 – A SHOPPING SPREE

Something not expected in this post, considering this piece started out more like a piece expected to be read on a more aesthetic type of page, like Tumblr or something.

However, I strongly believe that all people, and especially those who love fashion, want to just let themselves shop until they drop. Just go to one store after the other and put together a whole new wardrobe. It doesn’t even have to be about clothes, you can just shop for your own house! You can re-event yourself and your apartment if you want, if that makes you happy. Just spend your money on something that makes you happy and makes you smile and is different from all the internet shopping we’ve all been doing.

5 – AN UNFORGETABLE NIGHT

I saved the best for last. This comes as a suggestion that managed to imprint on my mind strongly.

An unforgetable night. Friends, alcohol, fun, games, laughter echoing around us. After this whole ordeal is over, it would be amazing if every group of friends got to re-connect. One night that every group of friends have the opportunity to get to know each other once again or they get to talk like this quarantine never happened.

Human connection is important to us all and with social media we often tend to forget how being close to each other actually feels. We tend to show our affection with likes and emojis, but in reality we really don’t know how and what to say. Life is all about those moments with people you care about, life is all about those memories you cherish when a friend made you feel happy, when you made a person happy. Life is all about laughter and people and memories with people we love.

What anyb of us with friend would want is a night where we get to ferget every moment locked in walls. A night where we get to play and joke around and talk like we’ve never talked before. A night where we celebrate being alive and being with each other.. that’s a great way to celebrate our post quarantine freedom.

Surely, we all have a special list of things we want to do when the virus is gone. It might be a long or short list or it might be just a thing or two, something small or big to celebrate. Whatever it is, I want you to give it the proper meaning and not let it go like something small.

In or out in quarantine life is important to be celebrated and you should do that. People around us get sich and we are currently trying to fight this virus away, so when we make it – and we are all going to make it – I want you to do something good for youself. I want you to feel the liberation like a strong breeze cutting the wind, because that’s what I am going to do.
