Neoma & The Bubbles

Although, the title may sound like some kind of ’90s boy band, I swear this is a post about food.

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting a new to me restaurant-hotel in Greece that you absolutely need to book for a night if you’re around here somewhere or planning on visiting. By around here, I mean in Greece. Neoma hotel, at the busy heart of Athens, near Acropolis to be precise, is offering its guests a unique experience.

Whether you are local or not, trust me this place is worthy of your time and appetite.

Right at the rooftop of Neoma Hotel, four glorious plexiglass bubbles are set and inside them lays a table with four rather comfortable chairs. It’s high enough to be able to see the city lights from above, yet not so high that you are over Acropolis. How could you, after all, since Acropolis is the highest point of Athens, hence the name.

The hotel itself is very modern looking, clean and the staff are eager to help you with whatever you like. From assisting you to getting to the sky restaurant-bar, to helping you choose the right dish for you from the menu. They are knowledgeable about their menu, something that I really appreciated. They informed us right away for the premium cuts of the meat, what would go well with the atmosphere and what drink to accompany our food. They seemed really invested into providing us with the best experience. Very attentive!

The food is worthy of every cent. It’s actually not that expensive as one might think, despite the fact you have a spectacular view in front of you. I believe that others would take particularly advantage of that, but the hotel’s restaurant is not one of them. We opted for gnocchi with greek cheese and the premium cut in medium burn along with french fries. We also tried their kimchi little burgers as a starter, which truly blew our mind with how tasty they were.

For starters they also brought some warm bread in a little basket along with a small dish for the olive oil and olives. It was a very traditional greek starter dish. Their menu wasn’t exactly focused to a particular cuisine. They had asian and mediterranean dishes, very interesting premium cuts and meat from greek farms. It was nice to know that their menu had so many greek touches along some more exotic flavours.

I am hungry just by looking at this food gif.

The drinks menu was also quite a large menu, it had all kinds of wines, alcoholic drinks and beverages. They really cater to all tastes. You can view the menu yourselves by going to their hotel page, just so you know what’s up. This is also something I like, because I am the kind of person who wants to know what the restaurant we’re going to have, in case I don’t eat something. Talk about planning ahead.

Here’s a little gif for you guys, inlcluding the starters we had.

You might wonder if it was cold or hot inside the bubble, since we are in the middle of winter. I can let you know that despite the chilly night, the inside of the bubble was very warm and welcoming. I think it had something to do with the flooring, but I am not sure. The bubble also had a small window.

An information that you should also know if you ever feel like planning to go to Let’s Bubble, is that the working hours are up to 23:00 and the sky bubble restaurant operates operates from late October to late April.

Generally, I really enjoy trying out different types of restaurants and places with a nice view always open up my appetite, so stay tuned for the next restaurant I am going to try.
