Haute Couture – Spring 2019 // Balmain

One of the most anticipated fashion weeks of the year is the one taking place in Paris, France and, of course, I am talking about Haute Couture.
Haute Couture week is a highly anticipated week for all fashion lovers and artists around the world. It’s a celebration of the marriage between fashion and art.

Balmain is one of the fashion houses we all wait to see what its designer has in line for us, mainly because the said designer has a lot on his shoulders when it comes to a long line fashion house like Balmain. Thankfuly for us, Olivier Rousteing seems to be able to handle the job pretty well.

His designing skills and brilliant mind has proven to be exactly what Balmain needed to refresh its image and come in terms with current times.

Now, about Haute Couture – Spring 2019, I can’t say I did not like Rousteing’s creations for the show. No, I loved them as usual. I guess, I am a big fan of the designer, mostly because he always seems to create outfits that not only enhance a woman’s beauty, but all her curves all at one.

In Haute Couture, however, we are not interested in seeing a woman’s curves, but the creative mind of the designer in clothing form.

White pastel colors married satin fabric in Rousteing’s Couture collection. We saw a lot of volume on the shoulder and fancy belts almost on all outfits, along with statement sunglasses and a bag with a large B sprayed on it. I really liked the way Rousteing experimented with pastel colors and layers on the upper body and still managed to keep it classy and Balmain-appropriate. It’s something that’s hard to do, but when done correctly is truly beautiful.
